Yesterday was the day of my softball league's playoffs and championship games. In the first game, the Padres beat the SuperFriends (one of the best teams in the league). In the second game, us Tin Knockers beat the Outlaws. Considering that the Tin Knockers hadn't won a game in years before this season, this was pretty exciting!
After a far-too-short fifteen minute break, the championship game began. Long story short, we were shut out and ended up in second place. Despite a somewhat frustrating game, we were all in really good spirits when it was over.
I did pretty poorly at bat the last few regular-season games, and didn't do much better in the postseason. I did make some good plays as catcher, though. Mark did pretty well batting and in the outfield, making some great catches out there. My quads were feeling really great yesterday and I was able to run without limping for the first time in months.
Matt, our manager, said we'll play again either in the spring or next summer. Can't wait!

John, that was a really fun season and a lot of that had to do with the fact that we were on the team which maybe has never happened before??? So, I'm glad we did it and I'm stoked we were 2nd place and I look forward to doing it again (I have to remember to keep that shirt...)
I loved watching you guys enjoy the game so much together. Wish we could have seen all the games, but I am happy to get to see you both shine a few times. John and Mark, you both look so happy in this picture!! What a great group of guys these were. . . . super that the Tin Knockers finally made it. I'll be rooting for you another season.
With your knee problems I was amazed--and glad!--that you could play the catcher's position. Good exercise for your quads, like you said. Plus it's the family position, it seems. Grandpa V was a catcher, and so was Aunt Jeana, iirc.
Good thing you kept you "D" hat--You were the only one whose hat matched his shirt! (=^p
Congrats!
